Why we exist
We publish books on Russia of both academic and more general appeal. We provide an opportunity for our authors to publish work which might not seem to be 'viable' as a fully commercial project, but which none the less deserves to appear and which contributes to knowledge in the field.
Our books are of the highest quality, and we aim to make their appearance and presentation match the high standard of their content.

We are unashamedly a small concern, which was set up in Bramcote, Nottinghamshire, in 1991, and we publish a very small list of books: new items are produced as need arises. We work closely with our authors, who have considerable say in the design, general appearance and marketing of their books.
The proprietor of Bramcote Press is James Muckle, a retired school and university teacher of Russian, who is currently Special Professor of Comparative Education at the University of Nottingham.

All books are distributed from the publisher's address: see below. Bramcote Press may be contacted by telephone/facsimile and e-mail. As a one-man business, I may not always be present or able to answer the phone, so please leave a message if necessary.
Bramcote books are usually easily available through the book trade in the UK via Teleordering or direct contacts from booksellers, though one big 'chain' in Britain refuses to deal with small publishers like us. Overseas customers are welcome to contact us directly, or they may find it convenient to go through bookshops who know how to place international orders in the British system. Unfortunately, business does not justify at the moment our introducing card payment facilities. Cheques/checks in US dollars and Euros can be accepted by arrangement - but please contact us first. All our prices as quoted in this website include postage.
Our ISBN prefix is 978-1-900405. Our earliest publications bore the prefix 0 9517853
